breach in the levy on West Lake and Kokosing RiverWhat’s happening at the Park? Some folks have been asking us about the heavy equipment and large amounts of earth being moved in the western area of the park. The breach that occurred a few years ago at the edge of the West Lake and Kokosing River is being repaired.

This will allow kayakers to launch in West Lake then paddle over and carry their kayaks over the transitional breach to the river. It’s a WOW project that will benefit users of the park and enhance the park experience in that area. We are very excited to be doing this park improvement this year after such trying times over the past long months.

The City of Mount Vernon and the Foundation Park Conservancy have partnered striving for a quality park experience for all visitors.
